Step 1: Scheduled task

Adobe Reader XI installs a scheduled task named "Adobe Acrobat Update Task" that prompts users to install updates. You're going to create an additional task that runs the updater as admin in the background.

In your preferred GPO, create a scheduled task named "Adobe Acrobat Update Task - <CompanyName>."

Set it to run as SYSTEM.
